College was where I realized that I had to follow my dream of being an artist. I tried several different mediums and loved doing abstracts. I sold many paintings while living in San Diego. After moving to Alabama I entered a local art show and was able to sell a few paintings. Soon I was having showings at various shops and enjoyed intera
College was where I realized that I had to follow my dream of being an artist. I tried several different mediums and loved doing abstracts. I sold many paintings while living in San Diego. After moving to Alabama I entered a local art show and was able to sell a few paintings. Soon I was having showings at various shops and enjoyed interacting with clients. My children were young and it was harder to paint with them running around. I was introduced to Stampin' Up! which is a rubber stamp company in Utah. I loved that I could create with ink and paper and stamps quickly. Since 2007 I have been a demonstrator and enjoy teaching others how to create beautiful cards. I started incorporating the stamps into journaling five years ago. This is when my faith grew. Drawing in my bible and meditating on the Word helped me to truly know Jesus and to fall in love with Him. Every day I thank Him for the gift of salvation.

I love color! As an artist I look for new ways to use what I have. Mixed media allows me to collage together images of stamps and patterned paper and embellishments. I also love painting with watercolors. Mixing colors and adding layers makes capturing the subject a unique process. When doing a commission I feel that capturing the spirit

When doing a commission I feel that capturing the spirit of the subject matter is the most important aspect of the painting. I know I can't possibly figure this out without God's help. I feel humbled by the fact I was chosen to paint a memory or tribute for someone. So I get on my knees and pray for God to guide my hands and help me to see what's important to paint.

What Inspires Me
As an artist I’m constantly inspired by what I see. Images of skylines, a cute yorkie, a playful kitten, kids playing at the beach. Sometimes my eye is drawn to a corner of my room and how shadows and highlights play on mundane objects. Life is a beautiful gift and my hope is that I capture the essence of that gift in my paintings.
